Slide Background

History

The Intercontinental Professional Baseball Series began in 2012 under the name of the Latin American Professional Baseball Series, with the participation of the champion teams of the winter leagues of countries such as Argentina, Panama, Curacao, Nicaragua, Colombia, and in the case of Mexico, the champion organization of the Veracruz Baseball League.

From 2013-2019 this tournament was called the Latin American Series and was organized by the ALBP. In 2020, the President of the board of directors Edinson Renteria, also president of Team Renteria USA, decided to give it a pause, to reorganize the structure of the tournament and thus be able to invite and integrate more countries where professional baseball is played and make it what today we will call the Intercontinental Series. In this new edition the following leagues will join: Australia, Colombia, South Korea, Cuban-Americans, Curacao, United Arab Emirates, United States (Independent League), Indonesia, Japan, Mexico (LMB), Nicaragua, Panama and Taiwan.

The first edition of the Intercontinental Series will be held from January 26 to February 1, 2024 in Colombia and will have as participants the winners of the following leagues: Colombia, South Korea, Cuban-Americans, Curacao, United States, Japan.
